Field Performance
The Artemis-M Pro utilizes the Sony IMX492 mono sensor, which is a favorite among high-resolution imagers. While this sensor is known for its 'starburst' amp-glow, it is important to note that this is a fixed-pattern noise. Because the glow is consistent, it calibrates out 100% with standard Dark Frames, leaving a clean, high-QE background suitable for the deepest narrowband imaging.
The real magic of the Artemis-M is its 'unlocked' resolution mode. You can toggle between 11.7MP with large 4.63µm pixels for long focal lengths, or 47MP with 2.3µm pixels for wide-field work. This flexibility, combined with Player One's built-in tilt adjustment, makes it a technical powerhouse for those willing to perform standard calibration steps.
- Consistent Amp-Glow (Easily removed with Darks)
- Unlocked 47MP High-Res mode
- Excellent QE for Narrowband (OIII/Ha)
- Integrated 4-point sensor tilt plate
- Requires precise calibration library
- Small pixels in 47MP mode demand good guiding
- Heavier data load in high-res mode
